Surprising city!

Medium size room, be prepared to climb 26 steps to your room. This may be a problem if you have many pieces of luggage or mobility problems. Giovanni, the manager, was very nice and helpful. Locationwise, very close to Brignole train station and 10-minute walk to historic center, where you can shop and find very good restaurants.

Bequeme Lage in der Nähe vom Bahnhof. Ca 10-15 min bis in die Altstadt von Genua. Sehr unkompliziertes Check-in. Nachdem wir den Besitzer informiert haben über unsere späte Anreise, hat er uns detaillierte Anweisungen per E-mail geschickt. Am Abend hat alles super geklappt und wir sind problemlos ins Zimmer hinein gekommen. Er hat uns sogar einen Stadtplan, in dem die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten gekennzeichnet waren, gelassen. In ca.300 m gibt es einen überdachten Parkplatz (18€/24h). Für Städtetrip sehr bequem.

Angefangen von der Kommunikation über die Begrüßung bis zum Empfang durch den Gastgeber war alles perfekt. Schönes Zimmer in toller, ruhiger Lage gepaart mit einem modernen Bad inklusive Dusche.

Great little guesthouse

We stayed at il Borgo for 11 days while my wife was getting medical treatment at a local hospital. The guest house is very close to Brignole station. We did several day trips on non treatment days so it was very convenient. The inn is on the north end of the city center. A short walk to sightseeing. There’s a grocery store and restaurants a stones throw away. The rooms are clean, updated, large bathroom and comfortable and air conditioned. Giovanni the proprietor is wonderful. Communication before and during our stay was great. He’s always available for your needs and can help with local information. We appreciate his hospitality.

Wonderful

A beautiful clean and comfortable room. Walking distance of some lovely restaurants. Giovanni was very courteous and helpful. Would recommend this delightful place to anyone.

La habitación está muy bien, baño grande, cama cómoda, la situación es alejada del centro pero el metro de Brignole está muy cerca. La zona no es la mejor pero tampoco nada que asuste

Es war ein sehr schöner Kurzurlaub. Der Gastgeber hat uns sehr freundlich empfangen & war immer wenn wir uns gesehen haben sehr nett & höflich. このホテルの致命的な点は、受付までに20数段の急階段を登らざるを得ない。10数キロのトランクを持っては女性や老人にはとても登れないか転倒の危険あり。受付も普段はおらず、チェックアウトを朝8時と言っていたのに不在でカギと税金を机の上に置いて帰った。要は、ホテルとして宿泊以前の問題。こういう先は、載せてはならない。

A gorgeous room in a quaint hotel. The location was really good, only five minutes walk from shops and restaurants. The host was lovely and really helpful, he gave us brilliant recommendations of things to do and see. The walls of the hotel were quite thin so you could hear noise on the street and next door, but we didn’t mind so much as it was only for a couple of nights! The stairs to the room are very steep, again it wasn’t an issue for us as we had no luggage but I can see how that would be difficult! Overall, an amazing place to stay- good value for money and characterful rooms.

Room was clean, bathroom new. Location was really central, close to the old town. Giovani was so helpful and made sure we were taken care of. He helped us find a place to park our rental car, recommended great restaurants and assured us the location and walkway to the old town were safe 24/7. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Nice hotel within walking distance of sights

Very small friendly hotel on an alley behind Brignole station. Clean and pleasant with friendly staff who aren't there all the time but access and communication no problem. Giovanni gave us some great tips on restaurants, cafes, etc. Easy to walk to all touristy parts of Genoa or close to transit stops. Note had air con, roof fan (refreshing), small fridge, kettle and safe, but long steep stairs to rooms.

Good, convenient location

Owner provided excellent directions and we were at property in just a couple of minutes from the Volabus stop opposite Brignole station. Excellent location on a quiet, pedestrian street behind station, but no noise from trains. Our room was very comfortable and extremely clean. Owner took a lot of time when we arrived to talk over some maps of the city and coastline and make recommendations. Easy walk to all areas of the city and perfect for travelling to coastal areas from Brignole station or for catching buses from the stands opposite station. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are already thinking about when we will go there again! It was not an issue for us, but the stairs leading from the front door to the first floor are very steep so would be an issue for those with mobility problems.
