"We were 3 of only 5 people in the hotel so services were at a bare minimum, which sucked for us. The place looked fresh and new, which is hard to do as things age quickly in Vietnams climate. The room was delightful and comfortable. The bathroom was a wet room and well laid out. Don't sit on the side of the bath as it's held down and tipped up me which took a bit a work to rectify. "Wonderful Stay – Highly Recommended We had a wonderful stay at GRAND HÔTEL du LAC Hanoi. From the moment we checked in until the day we checked out, the entire hotel team was incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming. What really stood out to us was the hospitality shown by everyone we encountered — from the bellboys and reception team to housekeeping, as well as the staff at the restaurant and bar. Everyone made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, we had a great experience and truly felt well taken care of. Definitely worth the stay, and we would happily stay at GRAND HÔTEL du LAC Hanoi again on our next visit to Hanoi."

Breakfast buffet was large but not particularly tasty — a shame in a city with so much fantastic food — and there’s an upcharge for egg coffee, which seems unnecessary, so I’m deducting half a star for that. But really that’s nitpicking. On balance, excellent."

"For first time visitors to Hà Nội, we did not appreciate how close and central the Solaria Hotel was to everything we wanted to see! Set right near Hoàn Kiếm Lake, it was walkable to nearby tourist highlights and souvenir destinations. However, the area comes alive on the weekend as the nearby streets are turned into a walking street, with vibrant nightlife and family-friendly options. The buzzing sounds of the city were not unpleasant to wake up to, and we still felt rested in a comfortable bed with a clean room. Hotel staff were immensely helpful, hardworking, and diligently attentive to our needs, providing helpful advice to first time (but definitely not last time!) visitors to Viet Nam, ensuring we were contacted in advance, helping us to avoid scam taxis by arranging airport transfers for a very low fee, and keeping the room tidy and comfortable in the August heat. We loved our stay and we will be recommending to family and friends to stay here if they’re ever in Hà Nội too."

"The Oriental Jade was our home for five nights in the most exciting part of Hanoi. It was lovely to walk back in after a day out exploring the bustle of the Old Quarter and be greeted by a front desk staff that genuinely was happy to see us and also interested if we had had a good time in their lovely city. We travel often, and when we can, stay in 5 star hotels. As we drove away to the airport (in a car provided gratis by the hotel), we both remarked that we may just have experienced the finest service we’ve ever received. Two weeks later, and neither of us has come up with a single flaw. Kudos to management and each and every one of the staff we interacted with. Really exceptional. Thank you again."
