Interesting way to live in past history in this hundred year old home. The owner speaks rudimentary English. Not super friendly people. The morning ethnic food is tasty but no changes to accommodate with allergies or food preferences. The place could be much better if they clean up and organize the centre courtyard to be nicer. Sleeping on floor with a thin mattress was ok but not super comfortable. Very near centre of Bukchon Hanbok village. Very walkable area. Lots of restaurants, cafes and shops nearby.

Amazing experience
This is an absolutely amazing place. It it tucked away in the middle of the Hanok village area and is within walking distance of the Changdeok Palace and Insadong. It was a perfect place for all of our activities. The hospitality of the staff is beyond amazing. From carrying your bags in, to accommodating arrival times While the site mentions their breakfast, it does not being to describe the experience. At around 8am you slide open the doors to your area and are presented loaded trays of freshly made traditional Korean foods to start your day. The soups and food are prepared in the courtyard. Our 2nd morning was chilly and the amazing gukbap soup was far better than a cup of coffee to get us started. There is also filtered water in the courtyard and the location is right beside 2 restaurants with multiple others and continence stores minutes away. On the comfort level, this is a Hanock, which means there are not beds. There are traditional sleeping mats and blankets. We were in the deluxe and a bit surprised of the actual size (about 6ft by 12ft in the main area. This may be an adjustment for some western travelers. We did have some struggles with luggage and getting settled in at night with 4 people and some large bags. We will get the larger room on our next visit. Temperature wise, we were very comfortable even though it was fairly cold. The bathroom also had a heated floor and was larger than other Korean hotels I've stayed in. Loved our visit!

Just a place to sleep
room is super small even we have noted that would be small. sleeping with flies, very noisy environment. the host will wake you up at 7:30am because of 8am breakfast. it is not in good value.

Loved it!
My stay was really nice! I was sent a confirmation text right after booking with directions from the subway station to the guesthouse and it was pretty easy to find. The area it's surrounded by is really nice and right next to a bunch of museums and palaces! It's also surrounded by tons of shops, cafes, and restaurants. I chose to travel around, but I could have easily stayed in that area with zero problems. The staff were incredibly friendly and knew a bit of English. The single room is smaller than it appears in the pictures, but it was still really nice, clean, and has plenty of room for me and my things. You also get a private bathroom. It's small, but average for most Korean style bathrooms and had everything I needed. There's an AC unit inside the room, too, and the floor is heated, so I was super comfortable. If I had to guess the size laying down, I would say it's about roughly 185-190 cm, so, if you're taller than that, it might be a bit of a squeeze. Breakfast was served in the morning (homemade bibimbap) and was really lovely. The garden area is just as pictured. I would absolutely book again!

Warmest welcomes and perfect location
If traveling to Korea, experience a traditional guest house. Sophia Guest House was amazing, the owners living right there attentive to every need. Walk out the door to microbreweries, restaurants, locals, tourists, the palace, everything! The kids are still asking to return, to sleep on the heated floors, and enjoy the attention of the family.

Overall ok but room a little too small.
Everything seem ok but the only down fall is the breakfast. He should allocate at least 1/2 hours for each group to have their breakfast.

Comfortable stay at this guesthouse
It was a novelty experince living in a traditional Korean house in the centre of the city. One night seems sufficient for the experience. It was comfortable and sufficient. One thing could be improved is the breakfast- it was good, but I wouldn't have preferred a Korean breakfast instead of Western. Also, there are a lot of mosquitoes at night so a repellent would be advisable.

Great hanok stay.
Wonderful stay at a great neigbourhood. You don't have to walk far to experience local culture and food. My room was small but nice, warm and beautiful hanok.

Hier haben wir keine wirkliche Hanok-Erfahrung gemacht. Das Zimmer ist anderes, als im Internet abgebildet. Das Zimmer war sehr klein, ohne Fenster und die Toilette war defekt.

여자6명이 자는데 큰 문제는 없었다. 집 자체는 옛날 한옥집이여서 추억 돋는 장소이나 시설은 좀 낡아서 (특히 화장실) 조금 불편했으나 주인 아저씨의 친절함은 아주 좋았다. 집 찾아 가는 길도 길거리 공연도 있고 예뻐서 걷는게 힘들지 않았다. 무엇보다 좋았던건아침 조식!! 기대를 안하고 받아본 밥상이라서 그런지 간만에 잘 차려진 밥상에 감동~ 너무 좋았다.

방안에 냉장고가 있어서 깜짝 놀랬어요. 저녁 먹으러 외출했다가 방에 들어왔는데 음식냄새가 나더라구요ㅠ.ㅠ 잘 때 누웠는데 반찬냄새가 솔솔 났답니다. 그것 빼고는 조식을 방으로 갖다 주시고 아이들이 편하게 있을 수 있어서 좋았습니다. 욕실도 따뜻해서 좋았습니다.

Super quartier mais gare au confort !
Guesthouse très photogénique mais tellement typique pour le folklore touristique ( confort sommaire , chambre et salle de bain exiguës) qu'une seule nuit ( au lieu de 4) nous aurait été suffisante pour apprécier le pittoresque de l'endroit. Par contre,quartier idéal avec accès à pied à tous les sites touristiques environnants , nombreux restaurants et boutiques.

Un logement charmant, au coeur du Séoul historique
Le logement, de type traditionnel, est très confortable et très pratique. Sophia Guesthouse est un endroit charmant, situé dans un quartier idéalement situé dans Séoul, entre Gyongbokgung, Changdeokgung et Insadong. Beaucoup de centres d'intérêt peuvent être rejoints à pieds et pour le reste la station de métro Anguk est très proche. Dans les environs immédiats, on trouve des restaurants, des cafés (il y a un glacier adorable juste au coin de l'impasse où se trouve le logement) et un musée d'art moderne et contemporains tout neuf ! Le petit déjeuner est copieux et délicieux, idéal pour attaquer une journée de découverte de Séoul. Nous recommandons chalheureusement !

Location is perfect! Outside the guesthouse, there are cafe and Bar. Turn around to be the shopping street. Only 8 mins walk you can arrival Insadong and Samcheongdong. If you want to go shopping or enjoy Tea House or Tradition Korea food, this place is very convince. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. We love the room and it was very clean. The Breakfast was very yummy. I took my family there two days ago, we have super great time there. If we come to Seoul again, for sure we will stay here.

한옥숙박 기분을 내고 싶었으나 문간방이고 마루도 없어 전혀 한옥기분을 느낄 수 없었습니다. 매니저는 친철하지 않고 화난듯이 무뚝뚝해서 기분이 좋지 않았습니다. 외국인에게만 친절한척 한 모습에 더 실망했습니다 .

편안하고 예쁜 화단과 방
객실이 깔끔하고 문을 열어놓으면 다른 작은 마당이 보여서 명상하기 좋았어요 욕실바닥에도 난방이 들어와서 쾌적하구요 아침에 과일이 제공되는 식사라서 간단하게 드시는 분들은 좋을 거 같아요 전 아침식사를 안해서 커피만 마셨는데 그 잠깐에도 분위기가 친근하고 좋았어요

오래된 한옥을 느끼고 싶다면 여기
와이파이가 잘 안되고, 같이간 외국인 친구는 샤워시설이 불편했다고 했다. 하지만 화장실 바닥에 열선이 깔려있어서 한옥치고 춥지 않아서 그점은 좋은것 같다. 주인분이 매우 친절하시고 위치도 경복궁 광화문 창덕궁을 걸어서 갈수 있을 정도로 가까워서 편리했다.

アットホームでオンドルも暖かいし韓屋で風情あるし、北村、昌徳宮、景福宮は徒歩圏内、仁寺洞も近い 泊まって良かったです 次回も是非泊まりたいと思ってます

立地も含めて、風情のあるゲストハウス
チムジルバンで夜を越す予定でしたが、急きょ当日に予約しました。初のゲストハウスでしたが、若者ばかりではなくて、世界各国から来られていました。トイレ横のシングルルームに１泊しました。ホテルでは味わえない体験が出来て、とても良かったです。

很有味道的韓屋老宅
還算不錯的韓屋體驗，只是水壓弱了一點，在冬天會比較小難受，當然要舒適可以選擇更高檔的飯店或民宿，Sophia以這個價格來說，已經很不錯了！

charming in a great area
charming Guesthouse in a great area!! Had to shower standing next to the toilet without a curtain making everything very wet, also the Internet connection did not reach our room. However, it was still a nice experience to stay here, next door there is a wonderful craft beer pub with really nice staff, Kiwa taproom. Soup, toast and fruit is prepared for breakfast, was hoping for a more Korean breakfast, but the lady preparing it was very kind and sweet to us.
