"The hotel is about 10 minutes from the Hammersmith underground. As you walk out cross over and walk on the right side straight down Shepherds Bush Rd. Lillian was wonderful and very accommodating. We were able to leave our luggage and go sightseeing.The room was clean but a bit warm for me. We turned off the heat the next night but it was still extremely warm although we had cracked the window open. It might be nice for the hotel to consider getting a few fans for the vrooms especially as summer is approaching. There was coffee in the room but the milk was not refilled. The bathroom is clean and we did have fresh towels but no wash rags so make sure to pack one. We went to a great cafe a few steps down called The Green Cafe. Very nice place for coffee , breakfast or lunch. You will also get 10 percent off if you mention that you are staying at The Star. Also I was glad to find brown grainy bread available as most other places had only white or sourdough. Overall it’s a nice small hotel in a good location."

"The rooms were clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was out of place for the area to me because the hotel is really nice, but the surrounding area was not what I expect. The surrounding area is the only reason why I would not choose this hotel again."

"I was staying on the first floor - immediately next door was a railway line. Constant train noise through windows with minimal noise insulation lead to an almost sleepless night. I recomend rooms on the opposite side of the building."

"The hotel is in a great location. Definitely pay for the park view rooms as it is beautiful and the view the other way overlooks a roof top in disrepair. Breakfast was very good. Easy walk to the underground station as most touristy spots are a few stops away. Kensington High Street has a lot of options for food and is clean. Front desk staff very helpful and pleasant. I recommend staying here is you want to stay in the Kensington area."

"Visited this hotel 10 years ago. Was so fresh back then and clean. Now real bad. Property needs full overhaul. Bath overflow was disgusting. Black hair like material sticking out. Windows dirty and surrounds cracked. Very disappointed"

"Breakfast was good. Room could have been a little cooler for me but was fine for my daughter(we shared the room). Staff was exceptional especially Clyde, Carlos and Stephanie. Carlos even went and got a cake with candles, knowing it was my daughter’s birthday we had come to London from Canada to celebrate and sang happy birthday to her. He gets a gold star from us. Well done."
