" I chose a refurbed room one grade higher than on my previous visit. Once again, it was wonderfully quiet, warm and clean, while also being noticeably more spacious. The addition of a fridge and coffee maker make mornings especially enjoyable, and the housekeeping team were, as ever, extremely helpful and attentive. The rooms have been beautifully refurbished, which adds to the overall comfort and appeal of the stay and the staff polite, professional, and attentive at all times, which really enhances the experience. The location is fantastic, with easy access to amenities, restaurants, shops, parks, and transport links. Another fabulous stay, and I’m already looking forward to returning again soon."

"- rock hard mattress - very small bed & duvet - literal gaps under the front door letting all noise through - very old plumbing so anytime anyone used a tap or loo next to/above us etc or shower would be very loud in our room - broken or peeling or shabby every piece of furniture including chrome effect on bathroom fixings - cig butts everywhere out of the window - very tiny bathroom - very narrow doorways - random piece of MDF on the windowsill - did not sleep - sharp edge on metal floor carpet divider thing in doorway - dirt/dust in tea and coffee tray thing The staff were fine, and are obviously just doing their best in an old building where the owner clearly wants to botch job everything and make money rather than actually make a nice hotel. You're literally just paying for the proximity to Paddington station and fancy entrance. "

"The first room I was given had strands of hair under a throw pillow on the bed. When I called the front desk, and someone was sent to check it out and document the hair. I was moved into a different room, but itade me weary about overall cleanliness. The shower is nearly impossible to use the shower without getting water everywhere. The hotel is right next to a gas station and there are grocery stores and places to get food nearby. "

"Very clean room. Cleaned every day with new towel and plenty of soap. We left dishes in the sink and they were cleaned every day for us. The water was warm and close to the tube and plenty of restaurants."

"This is an amazing hotel! It’s in a great location as well - right across from Kensington gardens and steps away from Lancaster gate underground. The Columbia is the perfect mix of modern and historic. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because of the bathroom/shower. It was not ideal, the plumbing is very old but what can you do. Otherwise our room was great. Comfortable beds, very clean, and friendly staff."
