"Hotel being refurbished so all a bit of a mess in communal areas. Very basic amenities but for the price charged no worse than I had expected as well priced. Very helpful female receptionist on my arrival, which was great"

"We had a recently renovated triple room. It was extremely clean and the 3 single beds were ideal for us. The bathroom was lovely the only downside was no door on the shower so made the rest of the bathroom very wet and slippery when used. Breakfast had a good choice and reasonably priced at £15 pp. when I booked didn’t realised there was a lot of building works going on but didn’t hear any noise after 5pm or before 8am - no good if you want a lie in as it was noisy after 8 but fine for us. We would definitely stay here again. Location was fantastic Staff really helpful"

"Lady at reception upon arrival looked like she didn't want to be there, no greeting just a blank stare, described as every room as a balcony well room 10 definitely doesn't, in the basement with such a disgusting bathroom, the white grout is all yellow and brown stained, the pillows on the bed are too hard, the main lights in the room had a few bulbs that had gone and the remaining seemed to start flickering so fast every 10mins like it was a rave, the WiFi was so poor and TV reception was even worse, I do believe this was due to being in the basement, the pictures are not a true reflection on the property, very unhappy with the stay"

"We booked a club room, so paid extra for it. We were very disappointed as we were in the basement, the carpets suddenly changed to what can only be described as resembling a travelodge. The room was much smaller than average and the shower was tiny. The room was dark due to it being on a lower level than the street. We only had one glass for the room, we had to make a request for the bathrobes as they had been forgotten. The positive was the decor of the reception and breakfast room. A lovely old building In A prime spot about 3 mins from Bayswater tube station. I wouldn't recommend as it was way too expensive for the standard of the room. We didn't complain as the hotel was full and felt it would have been futile."
