Hotel staff at check-in helpful, spoke and understood English quite well. Room was fairly clean; toilet needed scrubbing as there were stains inside the bowl. Double bed was narrow and against the wall which made sleeping by the wall extremely difficult to get out of the bed.
Tokyo is preparing for the 2020 Olympics. The infrastructures in the transportation as well as other areas are being upgraded/improved and there is plenty of construction in the general Tokyo areas going on right now. Lots of detours in foot traffic areas.

Nice place to stay with easy acess to shopping area. Rooms are too small & buffet breakfast are limited and too short of a time. Staffs are friendly but not consistent as most do not speak fluent English.

The common areas were grand in style. The staff was absolutely amazing! They were so nice and extremely outgoing. The restaurant on the first floor was a good value, we ate dinner (all you can eat crab and Wagyu beef) and breakfast (Asian/Western mix) there. The value of the dinner was very good and the drink prices were in line with what you would expect at any nice restaurant. We would go back in a heart beat.

The staff was exceptional at the Kamakura Prince Hotel. When my husband became ill in the restaurant, they were by his side with caring and concern. The overall experience there was pleasant, serene and calming.

So some of us are car people, and being close to one of Yokohama and Tokyo's biggest locations, is a must! Daikokufuto is what I'm talking about. What the hell does this have to do with a review, you may ask? Well, let me tell you, Kannai, is just a 10 minute drive to it, and on top of that Kannai station is also close enough should you wish to challenge yourself by getting a taxi there too.
Now, there are a few drawbacks, Kannai is quite a lot like Japan's London or NYC, fraught with one way streets and an endless sea of people crossing roads. As for other drawbacks, it's just a matter of opinion really, not a lot of gaijin friendly places.
If you are in the need of a hire car, Nissan Rent-a-car is just 2 minutes maximum, from the station (south side) and for a kei-car looking at around 8500円
As for the hotel itself, the room, a 2 person, double bed setting, was barely big enough for 1 person to move around in, whereas the bed was plenty big enough. The shower/bath, as always, was typically Japanese, being small. But just what you need.
The staff are friendly as with every time I have stayed at an APA hotel. Not too costly either!
If I were looking to stay in Yokohama, Kannai again, then I would choose to stay here!

Polite and helpful staff, plece was clean alright.
Expedia or the hotel should mention that the shower is common and open.
Also, the hotel must put a big board and inform every single customer when checking in "NO TALKING IN THE CAPSULE FLOOR".
On the first early morning at about 5:45am, one guy was waiking his friend so loud as if he owned the floor. There was one other noisy guy the same morning. One idiot is enough to disturb 20 people.
Good location, 2 minutes walk to the bus stop and 4 minutes walk to the subway.
