"Five star property. Outdoor hot spring design was well thought out and due to the high elevation overlooking Lake Toya it transported you to another realm."
"The suite we had was spacious, and the breakfast buffet was very good. The building location does require driving for restaurants. We were surprised that many places are closed in this current season so food choices were more limited than expected. "
"The hotel itself is a bit on the far end of the town, making it nice and quiet, with a fantastic view over lake Toya and the islands. If you come by train or bus, they kindly offer shuttle services, which was greatly appreciated. Rooms very comfortable with their own onsen, beds amazing, breakfast also great - both options, Japanese and Western style. The only problem was that even though you were a hotel guest, you could not dine in the hotel, unless you call at least two days in advance. This...
"Very helpful staff.
We used Takyubin service to and from Snow Dog Village and they took care of delivering our snowboard bags into our room when we arrived and also when we left. "

The only problem was that even though you were a hotel guest, you could not dine in the hotel, unless you call at least two days in advance. This was not mentioned anywhere during booking, so we were unpleasantly surprised that we couldn’t eat in our own hotel, considering that the towns is about 4 km away. So we had to take a taxi to eat somewhere. The restaurant was not even full in the evening, thus we felt quite disappointed by this strange situation. Other than this though, it was a very pleasant stay. "

10/10 Excellent
"Nice 5 star hotel. The service and staff is top notch. The views are spectacular. Great place to retreat to and relax. We stayed here for 1 night in our trip through Hokkaido.
My only issue was at check in. We were required to make the dinner reservations and meal selection at the front desk. And not everything we wanted was available to us. So it was very awkward experience in my opinion. I don’t know if I made a mistake not reserving the restaurants in advance but it is hard to know what you want for dinner up to 7 months in advance. Maybe it was just better to order room service. "
"Overall the resort stay is good value for money (summer), it has everything onsite, amusement park, shopping, food etc. some downside could be: the hotel room bathroom being a little dated, they don't do cleaning daily, but they do at least change your towels for you. Being a hotel, noise from your neighbors could be a problem (talking loudly in their room or outside in the corridors, slamming the door etc esp at night or in the early morning). They also provide coffee bags and teas in room. Location wise it seems to be quite ok, as we were able to drive (south) to Lake Toya in under 30mins or so, city of Date, Muroran, Noboribetsu etc. to the north, niseko, and if you like to the East is Jozenkei, all within about an hour. Plenty of Parking and is free. You also have access as a resort guest to Westin's onsen. The monorail is cute! Just note that this is in the summer where it's not the resort ski season so everything is very chill and not too crowded, I think things might get a bit different in the winter busy season though :) "
