The property and furnishings were serviceable but slightly dated. The location is amazing, with a subway entrance right outside and the shinsaibashi-dori entrance just a few minutes walk away. The staff are very helpful. All in all a very comfortable stay. Would stay again.

Staffs are very nice🌸everyday we have clean towels and clean trash🌸bathroom is nice space, beautiful and clean. Location is right at the train stations, so conveniently . Close to famous Dotonbori, shoppings. Very highly recommended 👍

So, I just booked with Smile Hotel again, this time in an awesome spot! It's surrounded by loads of restaurants, shops, and best of all, it's only a 10-minute walk from Dotonbori!

The room is very comfortable, all equipments are great and convenient. Location is great, only a few minutes walking distance to prime location. Metro station is below the hotel. No noisy place around the hotel. Highly recommended.

The property amenities were a bit dated and they only provide housekeeping only once in 3 days which makes the room unlivible as they are small. Dust bins are tiny and was asked to put rubbish outside door which kept accumulating. The location was fantastic and walkable to Dotonburi and train stations

Tired, old and tiny
Location wise it was fantastic but this hotel is old and dated. The rooms are so small you literally can’t swing a cat! Why do hotels in Japan allow smoking rooms? So outdated and disgusting. Bed and pillows were uncomfortable. Service was ok, location very handy but its a tired and dated hotel and we couldn’t wait to leave.

Good: 1. Although the hotel is not located at Namba, the main tourist attraction, it is right above a subway station near Namba. 2. The room is spacious considered Japanese standard. 3. There are McDonald's and 24 hour Aeon mini supermarket opposite. Not so good: 1. Some staff can be more friendly. 2. Hotel is near a main street. Can be noisy in the middle of the night.

This is a business type hotel that mostly caters business people and travellers. Like all Japanese Hotels - expensive and less expensive, the rooms are quite compact. However the accommodation is ideal for a couple or single traveller. There are no frills but the rooms are clean. We stayed there mid November 2023 for 3 nights. The only downside was our reception person was not very friendly, but at that price you cant have everything. Would stay again. If you pay more that A$80 - A$120 for decent accommodation you have too much money - especially since you are only using it for a base to sleep.

Overall this hotel is good 800m from centre Gulico sign ,dotomburi ,shinseibashi if you dont mind to walk around ,Hv Aeon style food store,Mc donald opposite hotel staff front desk quite nice Near Yotsubashi station tho!!!

Nice location, clean rooms, not so friendly staff
The location of this hotel was very nice and convenient. It's right above the Yotsubashi line which you can access via white dome plaza with escalators. The hotel is also right across from Mcdonalds which has Aeon supermarket right beside it. A few steps away from the hotel is also Sugi Drug and nearby are different convenience stores. Shinsaibashi was also about 2 blocks away which takes around 5 minutes walk. The hotel room was also very clean except for the phone which was really dusty. It also gets really noisy from the intersection even til late night as my room was facing that way. One thing I didn't like was the front desk, even though the hotel's name is Smile Hotel, I don't recall seeing the front desk smile in my 8 days stay there. The front desk staff does not feel warm and hospitable and they actually make me not want to ask for help or anything.

Great location
Decent hotel stay. Cannot expect too much for the room price (typical Japanese small room). Excellent location with train station below, you’d be sure to be back safely in hotel room after rounds of evening drinks. Many izakaya hidden gems around the hotel area. I will choose this hotel again in future.

Great location but cleanliness not so much
Check in process was not pleasant and had to wait for our room for over 30 mins. The room was not clean throughly, there was garbage under the bedsheets, we found used and new disposable contact solution and the pillows and blanket was all stained and looked like it wasn’t cleaned as it was dark yellow! The concierges were not helpful and didn’t even try to help except for the last one that helped us with our luggage delivery as he was the nicest one out of all the 4 we dealt with. The location is great but hotel and staffs, the cleanliness of the room not so much. I hope that they will go and replace all the blankets and pillows with new ones and clean the room throughout for future guests.

The property needs freshening up. You can clearly see things are starting to get old and dusty. There was urine stains on the toilet when we first walked into the room. Our bathroom had a strong smell of urine the whole time we stayed. We asked the staff to clean it but it still reeked of urine. Good location but I would choose another hotel in the area next time.

Hotel was close to Subways and attractions were also close (about a 10 min walk) Staff was nice and helpful as well. McDonald's was right next to hotel. Would recommend!
