"so it's a typical ryokan, we've been to a few. A little bit older, a little faded, but nice. One thing for westerners to be aware of, the food is not toned down for tourists. This is real traditional Japanese food. A lot of it has that pronounced funky fish taste ( i love fish, but this is different). And breakfast is the same, we passed on bfast the 2nd day. Too much for my western stomach."

"Wonderful onsen - indoor and outdoor, so relaxing! Excellent location - right near train/bus station so super convenient Breakfast was AMAZING. So much food - Western and Japanese. Really everything you could want for breakfast and more! Staff very helpful Some parts of hotel looked a little worn but our room was big and clean and very comfortable with great views of the river."

"Location is nice. Close proximity to the bus stop with a Family Mart right next door. 10 min bus ride to the ropeway. The rooms are big and the private onsen was the perfect way to start the morning and relax after a day outdoors. Beer on tap & you can mix your own drinks. Non-alcoholic drinks also available and refreshing."

"The Onsen (hot spring facilities) was fantastic, especially after a long journey. Breakfast and dinner buffet were excellent. Mostly Japanese food but there are a few choices for those who don't like Japanese food. For me, the meals were great. Sushi, Sashimi, lots of different choices. A true test of Japan. Never had the same thing twice as there were too many choices. Not to mention they had beer, sake and some other alcohols available as part of the buffet. Didn't see anyone abusing the access which is good. The only thing to mention is if you are traveling from Tokyo and are returning there, it would be good to only take a smaller portion of your belongings (send your larger cases to your next hotel) as the rooms are not equipped with closets or drawers so you will be living out of your suitcase. Really wasn't a problem with our two large suitcases. Nice walking path in the back of the facility. Strongly recommend taking a taxi or uber from the train station with your suitcases. We road the bus there which was standing room only along a a very twisty mountain road, OVERALL - WONDERFULL"

"The hotel was so amazing. The view is magnificent. The location is really good. The only thing that i could say that is a bit disappointing is there are stains in the sofa in the living room. Other than that everything is perfect."
