"Was really disappointed in this hotel when we arrived as the pictures are very different to what the rooms actually look like. The area isn’t exactly family friendly either considering it backs onto the strip of red light clubs. We stayed for 6 nights and our room wasn’t cleaned. Towels had a bad smell. The staff were friendly and helpful which was one of the few good things it had going for it. Overall was disappointing and would not recommend."

"Very clean small shoe box side Tokyo hotel with impressively great service by the stuff, Rather have more walking space than strange and unnecessary large bed - 2 full size bed side by side. Because it was small and no common bath/spa, I will not return to this property."

"This hotel was my FAVORITE of my entire trip and I stayed at 5 different hotels in a 2 week trip. Hotel Niwa Tokyo is a beatiful quaint hotel tucked away from the chaos. The room was small but I loved it more, it helped with decompressing after being in the mayhem (hahaha) of fellow traverls & locals in a big city. The amenenties were amazing, they have this quiet outdoor area with chairs to decompres by the fountain while enjoying a freshly brewed hot tea or coffee (limited hours). There is also indoor seating with the view of the same outdoor area. After a long day of walking 16,000+ steps you could sit in the quiet & dark room with full body massage chairs. There is a work out room with weights, and laundry room which was so helpful. You'll need to use the dryer a little longer, the washing machines are already preloaded with laundry detergent and paid with a credit card (no coins needed). There is a water & ice station near the laundry room which i used everyday to fill up my refillabe water bottle. You seriously need to walk around with your trash all day that's why I took my own bottle. My only regret is that I didn't buy a set of pajamas that they provided during my stay. The pajamas were so comfortable and breathable. I'll just have to go back next year. :) Love this hotel and will definitely go back!!!! "

"Friendly staff at Tosei, lots of amenities and even when we asked for no room cleaning they would leave fresh water and towels outside our room which was appreciated. "

"Great stay here. The hotel is well set up with plenty of shower blocks that were always clean. The onsite restaurant was really convenient for the mornings to get the day going. Room was clean and had everything I needed. Would definitely stay here again "

"Dormy Inn Ueno Okachimachi is a solid option for its price range and location, but with a few areas that could be improved. The location is convenient, and the hotel offers good value for what you pay. The room was small, which is expected in Tokyo, but functional. The hotel provides some nice touches such as a welcome snack in the fridge and complimentary noodles in the evening (which many guests may appreciate). The check-in and check-out process is automated, but the staff were present and helpful when needed, which made the experience smooth. Breakfast was acceptable but relatively basic and the dining area was quite small. Compared to other hotels I stayed at during this trip, it was not a highlight. One area that could be improved is cleanliness. While the room generally appeared clean, the bedsheets did not feel as fresh as expected, which slightly affected my overall impression. Overall, for its category and price, the hotel delivers a reasonable stay with good service, but there is room for improvement in attention to detail."
