Facility was charming in an old fashioned way and I might stay again. The area is perfect next to Hyde park. But it felt a bit run down. The heater in the whole building was broken in a way I had to report rather than it being reported and solved for me (which it was, once reported).

We had an amazing stay in London. Mostly due to this hotel. They were very accomidateing to my special needs(on crutches) on thy fly at check-in. The staff is super friendly and welcoming-not sure where all the few negative feedsbacks came from. We will stay again and we also will recommend to friends and family.

Front desk was not secured at night, we had a “delivery” person ringing our doorbell at 1am insistently. Was told free breakfast, but not accurate. While the rooms were large and spacious and bathrooms semi-updated, everything is very dated, windows not secure, very creaky floors.

Please be assured that our staff are under strict instructions not to give access to food deliveries to guests' bedroom. Our policy is in fact to call the guests to collect orders from reception. Very Poor Value for a Hotel
Let’s just say it’s not going to be somewhere I stay ever again. I politely asked the hotel to fix the fan in my room as it sounded like a diesel generator, the tap which had dripped all night and the shower which unless it was on boiling hot made a banging noise, nothing got fixed. The room had food stains on the wall, the decor in the hotel is old and worn, etc. The staff I spoke to were nice but for the price I paid the value was significantly lower than I’ve experienced in London and I’ve stayed in cheaper hotels that were far better.

Given the cost I was very disappointed with my room. Stuffy , cramped and uncomfortable. Air conditioning was noisy. Bathroom facilities inadequate. Access to room was poor.

Convenience was great. Staff was super helpful. Room carpet could use some updating. The room and bathroom was a good size. I think you could do some updating but still have the London decor. If you have problems getting around you need to stay below the 5th floor. Elevator only goes to 4 and quite a few stairs especially if carrying luggage

Great - but bathrooms need a "refresh"
Fabulous stay at the Leonard. Great location and lovely, cozy feel to the hotel. Friendly, helpful staff as well. Only improvements would be a recommendation to "refresh" the bathrooms a bit. Paint was peeling and wallpaper was peeling as well. They need to tidy that up!!

I’ll just say, you get what you pay for. This is a more affordable hotel for the area so I didn’t have crazy high standards. But there was hair in the shower, a used cleaning rag on my dresser, and the room was very dated and not in a good way. I think the hotel just needs some TLC. I hardly saw staff while I was there, but they were friendly enough I suppose. The pro is that this is a great location within walking distance to a lot, but that was about it.

Excellent stay
I had a single room which was small but very comfortable. Slightly larger than usual single bed which was really comfortable. Everything you could need arranged very well in such a small space - fridge, kettle, desk and chair, nice shower etc. staff really lovely.

The 2 bedroom suite, for which we paid an extortionate price, was dilapidated and filthy. The kitchen and bathrooms were filthy, grimy and mouldy. The carpets were filthy and the walls were stained. Couldn’t even remove our shoes. Nothing luxurious about it.

Our first night was not great because we had booked a Deluxe room and they gave us a Standard room by "mistake". We didn't realize until the next day. They apologized and changed us to a deluxe room. Make sure you get the room you book. Probably the best location possible in London, no matter what you like to do. Close to great food, shopping, tour buses, public transportation, entertainment, bars and anything else you might want to do in London. It is an old hotel and has the old-style luxurious feel. All the furniture is high quality and looks great. That said, as you would expect from an old hotel, it has that musty feel you get from dark colored wallpaper, wood and carpet, and not the crisp clean feel you get from modern decor. We had a great time and would definitely stay again. Staying at the Leonard felt like traveling back in time in style. Pros: Great location Wonderful staff Small restaurant in the lobby (for coffee, breakfast, a drink and snacks) Safe Brand New Elevator Cons: No window blackouts and depending on the room the curtains might not close fully AC unit in our deluxe room was noisy and leaked, making the carpet wet Only one European (240v) and one American (120v) outlet in the bathroom (remember to bring UK outlet adapters) The mattresses feel old and are quite lumpy (we tried two rooms) Overall we do recommend this hotel. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed it a lot.

Good location
The location of the hotel was excellent for us, so close to the tube station, hyde park and Oxford street. When we arrived staff noted that breakfast was included and were proactive in asking if we needed recommendations for bars and restaurants. However, the hotel is quite dated and we were on the 5th floor, the lift only goes to the 4th floor. We had breakfast each morning which was always nice, you need to give yourself a lot of time if you have breakfast in the hotel and it is expensive we would not recommend paying extra. At checkout the staff thought breakfast was not included but believed us immediately and we were not charged. Overall regardless of the condition, for the price we paid we would return.
