Located on the island of Sentosa, this majestic theme park is Singapore’s answer to Tokyo Disneyland. It is one of the best family-friendly theme parks in Southeast Asia. For a full day of fun, you’re well catered for with lots of hotels and resorts near Universal Studios Singapore.

Best of Universal Studios Singapore

USS is up there on the top of the list of locals’ favourite things to do in Singapore. The theme park rides are great fun and once you enter Universal Studios Singapore, it’s a world of its own – fun for kids and adults. Take on the Jurassic Park ride, Revenge of the Mummy, Battlestar Galactica or battle the Decepticons in the ever popular 3-D Transformers ride.

If you have younger kids, at USS children will enjoy live Sesame Street shows, hug the characters from Madagascar and Shrek, hide from dinosaurs and monsters, or wander through the streets of New York and Hollywood.

A day or even two is well worth the price of the USS tickets, with rides and attractions keeping the standard of Universal Studios parks elsewhere. Buy the USS express pass to hop from attraction to attraction without the long queues.

Near Universal Studios

Universal Studios hotels provide quick access to the theme park. However, there are other attractions within easy reach of the park’s accommodation too.

After a fun-filled day or two of rollercoasters and thrill rides, tourists will enjoy the serenity and tranquillity of the nearby beaches. The golden sand of Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong beaches are an enticing treat. Behind Siloso, tourists can enjoy a bite to eat along the fascinating promenade.

Housed inside the stunning Crockford Tower Resort, the casino is a perfect spot to enjoy a few hours of gaming. There are more than 500 tables found within the casino, so tourists can try their hand at a variety of different games. At the end of the day, win or lose, visitors will have themselves a good time.

The hotels of Universal Studios are close to several sightseeing spots on Sentosa Island. The Sentosa Merlion is a must visit structure, since it is the iconic symbol of Singapore. Tourists should take some time to discover Fort Siloso, which was once Britain’s largest naval fortress in Singapore. Going up the Tiger Tower, 131 metres above sea level, provides unspoiled views of Sentosa, Singapore and the surrounding islands to the south.

Restaurants in USS

The restaurants in the hotels and in Universal Studios are, not surprisingly, comparatively expensive, even for Singapore. There are a range of dining options on offer, from Italian to Japanese, Chinese and local Malay delicacies. For a more affordable dining experience, try one of the restaurants at VivoCity, Sentosa Island’s main shopping centre. When it comes to after-hours socialising, Universal Studios is limited. There are some bars and lounges in hotels like the Hard Rock and Hotel Michael.
